Full booklet or one page?

The full booklet has the same content and order as the official one, on A4 portrait, and is the one to practise with: in the exam you will look things up in the official booklet, so you want to know where every formula sits.

The one-page sheet puts every formula of the course on a single A4 landscape page. It is for the last weeks of revision, to see the whole course at once and spot what you still do not recognise. The HL sheets are dense: print them at 100% scale, not "fit to page".

What is different from the official booklet

The formulas are the official ones. What changes is the layout: the official Maths booklets put Standard and Higher Level together, so an SL student has to skip the HL rows. Here the SL booklet has only SL content, and the HL booklet marks each HL-only row.

The Physics booklet follows the latest data booklet for first assessment 2025, version 1.2. Compared with version 1.0 it writes efficiency in words (useful work out over total work in) and puts a minus sign in the rate of thermal conduction, ΔQ/Δt = −kA ΔT/Δx: if your school printed the booklet early, check those two lines. The circuit symbols and the electromagnetic spectrum are in the full booklet only. There are no IB logos, and this is not an official IB publication.

Errors in the official booklets

Two formulas are printed wrongly in the official IB booklets. They are corrected in these PDFs.

Booklet and sectionOfficialCorrect
Maths: Analysis and ApproachesSL 1.8, sum of an infinite geometric sequence (page 3)The denominator is the wrong way round: with |r| < 1 the printed version gives a negative sum for positive terms. The AI booklet prints it correctly.S∞ = u₁ / (r − 1)S∞ = u₁ / (1 − r)
Maths: Applications and InterpretationAHL 5.11, standard integrals (page 12)The dx is missing. Harmless in practice, but it is the only integral on the page written without it.∫ 1/cos²x = tan x + C∫ 1/cos²x dx = tan x + C

How they were checked

Every booklet was re-typeset from the official PDF and then compared with it line by line by a reviewer who had not typeset it: signs, indices, conditions and every digit of the physical constants.

The one-page sheets are checked against the full booklets by a script that lists any formula missing or added, and then read again against the official booklet. Last checked .

Frequently asked questions

Can I use these booklets in the IB exam?

+
No. In the exam you are given the official IB formula booklet, and only that one. These PDFs are for revision: the formulas are the same, so practising with them means you know where everything is on the day.

Which syllabus are they for?

+
The Maths booklets follow the official formula booklets for the current Analysis and Approaches and Applications and Interpretation courses, first examined in 2021. The Physics booklet follows version 1.2 of the data booklet for the Physics course first assessed in 2025.

What is the difference between the SL and HL booklet?

+
The SL booklet contains only what Standard Level students are examined on. The HL booklet contains everything, with the Higher Level rows marked HL, so an HL student can see at a glance what SL students do not have.

What is the difference between the AA and AI formula booklet?

+
They share the prior learning and much of the basic statistics and calculus. AA has more algebra, trigonometry and calculus (binomial theorem, compound angles, integration by parts, Maclaurin series at HL). AI has more statistics and modelling (percentage error, trapezoidal rule, transition matrices, coupled differential equations at HL).

Is the one-page sheet complete?

+
For Maths, yes: every formula of the full booklet is on the sheet, checked formula by formula by a script and by an independent reviewer. For Physics, everything is there except the circuit symbols and the electromagnetic spectrum, which are in the full booklet.
