Who I am
A PhD in Physics, over ten years of tutoring, and research experience in the United States. I have worked with hundreds of IGCSE and IB students, in person in Milan and online worldwide. What I do is not ordinary catch-up lessons: I build learning paths in Maths and Physics, usually for families whose children are aiming at selective universities and STEM degrees.
What research taught me
A doctorate is not simply a longer degree, it is training in one particular habit: you do not get to call something an improvement until you can say what it is being compared against. That habit is why my students have a baseline from the first session, a written report after every lesson, and mock papers marked to the official scheme, instead of a general sense that things are going better.
When the questions get harder
A student who is genuinely good will eventually ask a question that goes past the syllabus, or want to take an Internal Assessment somewhere ambitious, or sit an entrance test for a selective STEM course. Those are the moments where a research background stops being a line on a page and starts being useful.
Research background
Alongside teaching I am still an active researcher in experimental particle physics, and the work is peer-reviewed and public. The publications are on Google Scholar and ResearchGate.
