    Subject, level, research question, school deadline and what worries you. Two minutes.

    Card payment in your currency on Stripe, then you pick the session from the times open in my calendar: from 7 days ahead, or from 48 hours with Express.

    Upload the draft when it is ready

    On your private review page, at least 7 days before the session (48 hours with Express), so that I can read it in full.

    Read the assessment, then we talk

    My written assessment appears on your page before the session. In 50 minutes we go through it together.

What the assessment covers

The criteria the IB publishes for your subject, one by one, with the band I would expect and what is holding it back.

Mathematics AA and AI (exploration): Presentation, Mathematical communication, Personal engagement, Reflection, Use of mathematics. For HL, whether the mathematics is really at HL level.

Physics (scientific investigation): Research design, Data analysis, Conclusion, Evaluation. Including variables and control, uncertainties and their propagation, graphs and linearisation, and whether the conclusion answers the research question.

On top of the criteria: the research question itself, the structure, and the two or three changes that would gain the most marks in the time you have left.

Who reads your IA

Frequently asked questions

Do you use AI to read or mark the draft?

No. I read every draft myself, from the first page to the appendices, and I write the assessment myself. Your work is never pasted into ChatGPT or any other AI tool.

Is an IA review allowed by the IB and by my school?

Yes, as long as the work stays yours. The IB allows students to receive feedback and guidance; what it forbids is someone else writing or editing the IA. I give feedback and ask the questions a good supervisor asks; I never write, rewrite or correct your text. If your school has its own rules on outside help, check them with your teacher first.

Will my draft stay confidential?

Yes. It is stored only on my own server, it is not shared with anyone, not sent by email and not uploaded to any external service. It is deleted 30 days after our last session. If you or your parents prefer, I sign a confidentiality agreement (NDA) before you upload: write to pietro@pietromeloni.com.

What exactly do I receive?

A written assessment, criterion by criterion, with the band I would expect for each criterion, what is costing marks and what would move it up a band, plus a 50-minute online session to discuss it. The assessment stays on your private page.

Is the band you give an official IB mark?

No. Only the IB moderates the IA. Mine is an informed estimate against the published criteria, meant to tell you where the marks are being lost while there is still time to fix it.

My deadline is very close. Can you still help?

With Express the session can be as soon as 48 hours from now, and you upload the draft at least 48 hours before it. If your deadline is closer than that, write to me before paying and I will tell you honestly whether I can read it properly in time.

What is the second look?

After you have worked on my feedback, I read the revised draft and we meet again for 50 minutes. You can add it when you order or later from your review page.

Which subjects do you review?

IB Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches, IB Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation, and IB Physics, at Higher and Standard Level.

Can a parent join the session?

Yes. The parent can be in copy on every email and can join the call.

What if I need to cancel?

You get a full refund if you cancel before I open your draft. The session can be moved once, with 24 hours of notice.
