How can my child prepare for IB Maths and Physics at GIIS?
Global Indian International School students preparing for IB Maths and Physics can use the transition into DP1 to strengthen algebra, functions and scientific reasoning. At GIIS SMART Campus, Grades 9 and 10 follow Cambridge IGCSE or CBSE, and Grades 11 and 12 follow the IB Diploma or CBSE. For students choosing the IB Diploma, I begin by checking what they can explain and apply independently. Previous study provides a starting point, while individual questions reveal which foundations need attention. In Maths, I work on manipulating expressions, interpreting graphs and presenting logical solutions. In Physics, I focus on units, vectors, modelling and connecting equations to physical situations. My IB tuition helps students build these habits before unfamiliar DP1 problems demand several skills together.
Can you help with Maths AA or AI, Physics HL and the IA?
Global Indian International School students can receive IB Maths tuition for AA and AI at HL or SL, and IB Physics tuition at HL or SL. I address specific gaps in understanding, extended problems such as Maths HL Paper 3, and the reasoning needed to develop an independent Internal Assessment. In Maths, I distinguish between difficulties with concepts, calculations and interpreting a question. For Physics HL, I connect mathematical steps to assumptions and physical explanations. For the IA, I discuss scope, methods and evaluation while keeping the work the student's own. As published by the school, the GIIS SMART Campus IB Diploma average in May 2026 was 38 points, and six students scored 45 out of 45. These cohort results provide context; I base support on individual understanding.
When are online IB lessons available in Singapore time?
Global Indian International School students can take one-to-one online IB Maths and Physics tuition with me on weekdays between 5 pm and 9 pm Singapore time. I teach from Europe, and families can choose an available appointment within that window to fit their child's school day and other commitments. The SMART Campus is in Punggol, and online lessons require no travel to meet me. I am Pietro Meloni, with a PhD in Physics in experimental particle physics and more than ten years teaching international-school students. I work exclusively one-to-one and online. I use the student's questions and attempted solutions to identify the next useful step, then work through the reasoning together. Sessions can focus on current topics, exam preparation or foundations that need revisiting.
Families at Global Indian International School can book a 20-minute assessment session with me to discuss IB Maths or Physics and identify useful next steps. The assessment carries no charge and no commitment.
