What Milan Families Say

Pietro turned my son's IB Math AA HL grade from a 4 to a 6 in one year. He explains things twice — once in English, once in Italian when needed.

M.G. · International School of Milan · 2025

Calm, structured, no panic. After the first lesson my daughter said: "finally someone who actually explains why."

L.B. · St. Louis School Milan · 2024

Our family returned to Milan from Singapore last summer. Pietro was the only tutor who immediately understood the curriculum gap and built a clear plan.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much do lessons cost?+

€70 an hour in Milan, the same for every student, subject and format, and the same whether you book one lesson or a twenty-hour programme. No programme is ever required, and the first 30-minute assessment session comes with no commitment. Every programme, with prices in your own currency, is on the programmes page.

Online or in person?+

Both. In person in Milan if your family is local; online for everyone else. The interactive whiteboard makes online lessons essentially identical to in-person for maths and physics.

In what language do you teach?+

English, Italian, or both — even within the same lesson. This is especially helpful for students who recently switched curriculum and still think in one language while studying in another.

My child is moving from Italian Liceo to IB. Can you help with the transition?+

Yes — this is one of my specialties. I have walked many students across the gap in both directions. The summer before the switch is the ideal moment for an 8-12 week intensive programme. See my dedicated page on curriculum transition for the full method.

How do I book a first lesson?+

Send me a WhatsApp message at +39 340 7397093 or use the contact form. I usually reply within 30 minutes. We will have a short call to align on goals, and from there book the first lesson.

Do you handle Internal Assessment and Extended Essay supervision?+

Yes — for Maths and Physics. I help students choose a strong topic, structure the investigation, and refine the written analysis. I cannot replace the school supervisor, but I significantly raise the final mark.

What it costs

A programme for each situation

A repeated year at an international school typically starts at $30,000. That is what these programmes are measured against.

$100 an hour, the same for every student, every subject and every format, and the same however you buy.

The path to the target grade

For a grade that has to move by the end of the year, not by next week.

20 hours · $2,000

Exam preparation

For a fixed date: the IGCSE or IB session, or the weeks before mocks.

10 hours · $1,000

Catching up and realigning

For one specific gap: a topic that never landed, or the first weeks after a change of curriculum.

5 hours · $500

One lesson at a time costs the same. What a programme adds is a target agreed at the start, a slot held for you, and the grade followed over time.
