Programmes and fees

I sell preparation, not hours

A grade does not move because a certain number of hours were bought. It moves because a specific gap was found and closed before a fixed date. So the offer is built around the exam session, and the hourly rate is what falls out of it.

I work with families at international schools in Milan, Zurich, London, Dubai, Singapore and Hong Kong.

For scale

$30,000 is what a repeated year at an international school costs, before anything else.

Choosing the programme

$100 an hour. One rate for every student, every subject and every format, and it does not change with the size of the programme.

The path to the target grade

For a grade that has to move by the end of the year, not by next week.

  • A target grade agreed at the start, and the route to it.
  • A slot held for you, same day and time, renewable.
  • The grade trend followed over time, with the plan adjusted when it does not move.

20 hours · $2,000

Exam preparation

For a fixed date: the IGCSE or IB session, or the weeks before mocks.

  • A plan that runs to the exam date, working backwards from it.
  • Exam technique on the official past papers of your board, CIE, Edexcel or IB.
  • The recurring mistakes worked on, not just the topics.

10 hours · $1,000

Catching up and realigning

For one specific gap: a topic that never landed, or the first weeks after a change of curriculum.

  • A diagnosis of where the gap actually is, in the first lesson.
  • A plan for closing it, and what it will take.
  • Targeted exercises with worked solutions after each lesson.

5 hours · $500

Or one lesson at a time

The same rate, booked one at a time, subject to what is free that week. No programme required, ever. What you do not get is the target agreed in advance and the slot held for you.

What comes with every lesson

  • A private area for your family, opened with a link. No account to create.
  • After each lesson, in that area: the whiteboard we worked on, the exercises and their worked solutions, and the theory notes for the topic.
  • The lesson diary: what was covered, lesson by lesson.
  • Progress: topics covered, hours done, and the grade trend once there are grades to plot.
  • Reports and invoices in the same place.

Invoice available. Corporate welfare accepted. Programmes are paid before they start.

When I say no

I turn work down, and this is when

  • When the student needs eight hours on paper technique, not forty. I will say so after the trial and quote the eight.
  • When the problem is not maths or physics. Missed deadlines, no sleep and avoidance are not fixed by more tutoring, and I will tell you what I think you are actually looking at.
  • When the student does not want to be there. A parent can buy the hours; nobody can buy the attention. I would rather lose the booking than take a year of it.
  • When the honest answer is that past papers on their own would be enough. The tools on this site are free for that reason.
